Flood of Hope campaign-Assisting directly affected families of Eastern Iowa

Vinton, Iowa-June 26, 2008-With the floods of Eastern Iowa destroying thousands of homes, many families are displaced and now face financial and emotional hardships.  To address these issues ICAS has founded Flood of Hope.  Flood of Hope provides assistance to families that were directly affected by the floods to find the resources and means to help them in their recovery process.

If your family has been directly affected by the floods and needs assistance, or will need assistance in the future, please contact ICAS at 319-474-4501.  By registering with Flood of Hope it helps determine and ensure the availability of needed resources for your family.  With registration, Flood of Hope can ensure that your family has the support of friends and neighbors in our communities so we can support each other in your time of need.  Calls, Registration and Services are strictly confidential.

Due to the increasing number and needs of families that were directly affected by the floods and their host families, Flood of Hope is in need of non-perishable food donations.  Cash donations are also of high priority so Flood of Hope can continue to support these families’ needs and help them in the recovery process.  These cash donations can be sent directly to the ICAS office with Flood of Hope written in the Memo.  The cash donations that Flood of Hope receives are tax deductible and are essential in ensuring Flood of Hope’s continued efforts to assist Iowa’s families who were directly affected by the floods.   We want to thank the communities for their ongoing support and reassure families that they are surrounded by friends and neighbors who care for them and are standing beside them during these difficult times.
