COMMITTMENT TO SUCCESS

ICAS was founded through a deep commitment and relationship with families and youth. In order for the organization to be successful families must be the driving force behind every aspect of the services, the true meaning of family driven services. The core operating principles and policies state that families must be given a realistic and meaningful opportunity to drive the services they receive. This commitment is delivered in several ways.

  • A ratio of 51% family and consumer representation is required in the by-laws of ICAS.  No decisions regarding the development of policies, programs, and practices for ICAS were made without the active participation of family voices.
  • Because ICAS is family-driven, family voices will also drive the evaluation and on-going reviews of all ICAS programs.
  • All team members are given the opportunity to openly communicate with families, consumers, board members, and other representatives who are working with the organization. This open and free communication allows families to be partners in driving the services that they need, rather than passengers who are never allowed a voice.
